Situated in the Old Village of Shanklin, Old Shanklin Guest House opened it’s doors in August 2011.
Old Shanklin is designed to be modern and comfortable, whilst still retaining a Victorian charm. The house is decorated with Island art and the Full English and daily breakfast specials are made using Island produce where possible.
The guest lounge is also available morning to night with IOW monopoly, cards and jigsaw puzzles for those cold wintery nights, as the Isle of Wight is very much an all year round destination. There is also a south facing garden for the sunnier days with a day bed and lots of lazy chairs. Tourist info is available either from Gareth and Sarah or a leaflet. There is also free WiFi.
In room facilities include TV/DVD, Freesat, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, Algotherm toiletries. DVDs and books are available to borrow free of charge.
Small groups are welcome.
We welcome walkers and have facilities to make walkers more comfortable such as drying facilities, maps, walking books, local info etc.
Bed and breakfast is provided for all guests as either Full English or one of our homemade daily specials such as waffles with bacon and maple syrup, smoky bacon hotcakes or bubble & squeak, to name a few.
We are also happy to cater for any dietary requirements.
Our produce is sourced locally as much as possible and we make our own jams and marmalades and bake our own bread.
Service is of paramount importance at Old Shanklin Guest House – taxis, restaurants, fishing, hairdressing can all be booked for you.
