Small Hope Beach is sometimes overlooked in Isle of Wight beach guides, this sandy beach is part of the “Bay Area” which runs all the way from Shanklin to Yaverland, it is also very popular with families & water sports enthusiasts as it is a great place for swimming and a variety of other activities.

The cliff side of the sea wall is lined with beach huts which can be hired, some of which are set back from the pathway and have their own garden areas. This beach is also serviced by the facilities along the Shanklin Esplanade where there are traditional amusements, and plenty of places to buy an ice cream or something more substantial to eat.

Don’t forget that Small Hope Beach is famous for the annual Boxing Day Swim! A band of brave souls will burn off  the excesses of Christmas Day lunch and supper & face the freezing temperatures of the English Channel.
